Sakshi Vij, Founder of Myles Automotive Technology
In India, Myles Automotive Technologies is a leading provider of self-drive automobile rental services. Sakshi Vij founded Myles in 2013 with the goal of creating an alternative ecosystem to car ownership in order to address the demand for an efficient solution to the escalating congestion challenges in urban areas.
Over the last 12 years, Sakshi Vij has played a key role in developing India’s personal mobility environment. She founded Mylescars in November 2013 after representing global vehicle rental businesses in India, successfully building one of the top radio taxi brands in India, and effectively building the largest B2B Chauffeur-drive rental brands in India inside Carzonrent. Corporates and individuals can use Mylescars as an alternative to car ownership.
The brand’s mission is to make car ownership more accessible, inexpensive, and easy. Myles Zero, Myles’ car subscription service, has revolutionized the way we think about owning a new or used car in India’s major cities.
The goal, according to Sakshi, was to allow people to enjoy the flexibility of having their own car without making a long-term commitment. The Delhi-based firm started out by renting new, pre-owned, commercial, or private vehicles, depending on the customer’s budget and needs. While the startup’s B2C approach attracts direct customers, it also operates on a B2B2C basis through collaborations with automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, and MG Motors.
Sakshi admits that her entrepreneurial journey was not without setbacks. The startup’s first issue is boosting public awareness as it works to build a segment of clients that are more appreciative of the flexibility it provides. Its current focus is on deepening its penetration into the domestic market and capitalizing on the EV industry as a product category.
