Visualise Your room With AR features of Siddharth Chandrashekar’s Pixel and Mortar
Siddharth Chandrashekar is the founder of Pixel and Mortar, an interior design platform based in Chennai that allows users to combine digital and physical elements, allowing for a world in which a trained interior designer creates mood boards to understand user preferences and then suggests furniture, rugs, wallpapers, lamps, furnishings, and more.
Siddharth began his career in 1997, when he founded Mitrra Media, and worked on packaging and communication design for well-known brands such as Reynolds. Eventually, he has worked with the Tamil Film industry in the field of film publicity design, working on the look and feel of blockbusters like Endhiran, Dasavatharam, and Billa. One thing led to another and he also directed a Tamil movie called Bale Pandya in 2010.
Then he established Pencil and Monk in the year 2014, an interior design studio that has taken up prestigious projects of Sheraton Grand Resorts and Spa, Taj Madurai, American Library, and Intellect to name a few.
Then, in June 2020, Pixel and Mortar was formed with the goal of shortening the time it takes a designer to finish this full process and thereby lowering the cost.
Pixel & Mortar is designed to revolutionize the industry by integrating a real-world setting with computer-generated input, bringing one of the largest technology trends, Augmented Reality (AR) to India’s interior design. Pixel & Mortar’s collection of personal preferences to build a space with ample room to customize, as well as features like comparing costs with a real-time calculator, are steady strides in the future of retail.
With Pixel and Mortar, the team is using augmented reality to create a platform that would assist users in putting together furniture, carpet, paint, décor, and other items in a room while also showing them a 3D representation of how it would appear in real life.
