For Naveen Goyal, Gurugram has been more than a place of business or politics. Over the years, the city has increasingly become the central focus of his public life, with his work moving from organisational responsibilities and civic initiatives to a high-profile electoral contest that established him as one of the more visible independent political figures in Gurugram.

A businessman by profession, Goyal entered the 2024 Haryana Assembly election from the Gurgaon constituency as an Independent candidate after leaving the Bharatiya Janata Party.
