Rajya Sabha election candidate and senior Congress leader KC Venugopal is having a meeting with MLAs of Rajasthan Congress. CM Ashok Gehlot will meet the media after the meeting.
- Meeting is going on at Shiv Vilas Resort
- Candidate KC Venugopal is also present
There is a tremendous stir in the Congress camp in Rajasthan even today. Rajya Sabha election candidate and senior Congress leader KC Venugopal is having a meeting with MLAs. After the meeting, CM Ashok Gehlot will face the media and only then it will be clear why the Congress needed to put its MLAs in the resort.
Significantly, the Congress party in Rajasthan is looking attentive to the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections to be held on June 19. The party has kept its own and independent MLAs in a resort to avoid breakdown of its MLAs. This is the meeting between the party leaders and MLAs.
On June 19 in Rajasthan, there will be voting for three Rajya Sabha seats, where Congress has fielded two candidates – K.C. Venugopal and Neeraj Dangi, while the BJP has also made the election interesting by fielding two candidates – Rajendra Gehlot and Omkar Singh Lakhawat.
The Congress has 107 MLAs and has the support of one RLD MLA, and 13 independents, BTP and CPI (M) MLAs, while BJP has 72 MLAs and has the support of three RLP MLAs. In such a situation, winning two seats of Congress was believed to be confirmed, but BJP has framed the matter.
