Rhea Bhattacharya is the founder of Drawn, a Gurugram-based womenswear business that was created to fill a vacuum in the market for many working women, particularly those in their forties and fifties, who are looking for everyday wearable options that are currently scarce.

Rhea has always wanted to be a designer and continued to pursue her dream as a fashion journalist for publications such as Grazia and Cosmopolitan. She eventually changed careers and worked as a celebrity publicist, which allowed her to stay in touch with stylists and designers. Rhea Bhattacharya closed her digital marketing agency TattleTale in 2019 to start working on her dream business, Drawn.

The name of the ready-to-wear label is a dead giveaway that it’s all about wearing your unabashed enthusiasm for bright colors on your sleeve. The 34-year-old entrepreneur had a specific target group in mind: working women between the ages of 28 and 45 who had high and stable earning capacities at this period. Drawn, on the other hand, found buyers among young college students and even a 65-year-old woman for their Rs 3,500 to Rs 4,500 clothes.
By engaging with artists, illustrators, and print designers to commission patterns for Drawn, which have already been a hit on Instagram, she has turned her canvas into wearable art. Drawn’s items will be available at retail stores in New York and multi-designer stores in India in the coming year, as well as online through its website.
