The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had summoned DHFL promoters Dheeraj Wadhavan and Kapil Wadhawan for questioning in the Yes Bank case but both refused to appear citing the spread of corona virus in the country. In a written reply to the investigating agency, both the promoters said that health is a priority in the current situation of the country.

On the allegations, the promoters of DHFL in a letter sent to the ED said, ‘It is wrong to tell Rana Kapoor to bribe. As far as the loan is concerned, these 6 fixed assets were given after getting the bail and these properties were taken as mortgage. To cover the risk in such bail, personal guarantee of Radha Kapoor (daughter of Rana Kapoor) was also taken. At that time Radha Kapoor’s assets were more than Rs 1400 crores.

Even in the midst of the Corona virus outbreak, 23 people, including Kapil and Dheeraj Wadhawan, defying the lockdown in April, were detained by the Maharashtra Police from Mahabaleshwar. Rana Kapoor was already arrested.
