Kranti Prakash Jha is an actor and model from Bihar, popular for his roles as Santosh Lal in the blockbuster Bollywood movie M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and his Chhath festival music video sung by Sharda Sinha got many appraisals from fans.
He was born on 2nd November 1988 in Darbhanga, Bihar in a well-educated family where his father was a bureaucrat posted in Purnia. He completed his schooling from Purnia and later he completed his graduation from Hindu College, University Of Delhi.
His acting career began with small television advertisements. He has also been featured in TV shows such as Swami Ramdev and Raktanchal. His filmy career started with a Bhojpuri film DESWA in 2011. Later he acted in many films such as Once Upon a Time in Bihar, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Kaashi in Search of Ganga, Batla House and one his most famous movie was Mithila Makhaan in 2017 which was in the Maithili language, which is his native language.
Mithila Makhan was directed by Nitin Chandra and actors in this movie were Anurita Jha, Kranti Prakash Jha and Pankaj Jha. Famous musicians such as Udit Narayan, Hariharan and Sonu Nigam have provided their soulful voice as playback singers in this movie. This movie has been shot in extremely cold conditions of Us and Canada in temperature such as -45 degree celsius and in the extremely hot and humid climate of India and Nepal where the temperature reaches to 45-degree celsius making it a high budget film under Champaran Talkies production house.
But even after all these efforts from this whole crew, this movie failed to show its impact and failed to make interest on various distributors hence resulted in not getting a proper theatrical release. After all the difficulties faced, this movie properly got released on a new OTT platform BEJOD on 2nd October 2020.
The movie was first of its type from Bihar and Jharkhand to get a national award. It has won Best Maithili Film in the 63rd National Film Awards. This movie has also been selected in the International Film Festival Of South Asia (IFFSA) in Canada in 2016. It has also been screened in many famous film festivals such as NFAI Pune and in Patna International Film Festival.
