The sources from the Dream city Mumbai told that “TATA SKY” yes the well-known Indian direct broadcast satellite service provider in whole India, the company is about to cancel channels or package for about “7 million subscribers” from June 15. This decision would be taken in a bid to reduce the monthly bills that are a huge liability on them as well as they can retain them on the direct-to-home platform.

What is the company expecting for?

  • An exercise known as the Rationalism Exercise should be taken which means that the company is aiming for retaining their Happy Customers with a monthly bill of a nominal amount Rs 350 or less than that.
  •  The company has already lost a huge number of customer’s worth of 1.5 million over the past two months after they completely canceled or failed to give new subscriptions to their customers, many people were calling it unaffordable.

Tata Sky is currently a joint venture between the TATA Group and the Walt Disney Company with Temasik Holdings as a major partner.

Highlighted Points

  • The feature that was provided by the one and only Tata Sky for their customers to choose their packs and channels from logging in online or through its application.
  • Instead of adding the channels a number of customers have deleted some channels or unsubscribed them.
  • As the customers are saying that if we don’t need this channel in our packages & the most important thing if we don’t watch these channels then why should we pay for it.
  • Viewers are the ones who pay the company by being their valuable customers and in this situation, the Viewers are losing their interests as they are unable to watch fresh content on any of the channels except the news channel.

The most important thing company told us that as the implementation of Lockdown was there in the whole country more than 1 million in-active subscribers came back to our platform in the month of March. In the month of April 1 million subscribers even left the TATA SKY platform as they were unable to watch fresh content, half a million didn’t even recharge their plans.
