Representing Her Culture With Hija de tu Marde, Patty Delgado
Patty Delgado, the 28-year-old creator, CEO, and designer of Hija de tu Madre, a Latina lifestyle business that creates clothing, accessories, and gear for women who want to carry their culture with them everywhere they go.
She is a self-taught designer who is dedicated to incorporating her multicultural identity into all of her products. Her self-funded business has sold to over 30 countries and continues to show the globe that Latinos are the new mainstream.
She founded the company in 2016 with the goal of defining what it means to be Latinx, a gender-neutral term that encompasses both the Latina and Latino communities. As she develops the things she sells, she is also attempting to establish it as a lifestyle brand.
Delgado’s cultural crossover inspired HDTM’s debut product, the infamous denim VirgencitaJacket. Nothing says Mexican to Delgado like La Virgen de Guadalupe, and nothing says American fashion like jeans. Delgado’s multicultural identity is perfectly incorporated into every product she develops.
Hija de tu Madre has been published in Teen Vogue, Refinery 29, Buzzfeed, and other publications with over 126k followers. Hija de tu Madre has expanded into a range of product categories, including apparel, accessories, and desk gadgets, and shows no signs of stopping off.
Hija de tu Madre’s mission is to produce stylish identification statements. Delgado thinks that clothes serve as reminders of who we are and where we came from and Our clothes provide us a sense of security, comfort, and belonging. As a result, Delgado’s goal with HDTm is to produce clothing that is a great representation of her cultural crossing.
