Founder Of Tempus, Eric Lefkofsky- A Man With Many Forms As an Individual
Eric Lefkofsky is the founder and CEO of Tempus, a major developer of precision medicine solutions powered by technology. It is creating the world’s largest molecular and clinical data repository, as well as an operating system to make that data accessible and relevant.
Eric earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School after graduating from the University of Michigan. He is also the co-founder and Chairman of Groupon, a global e-commerce marketplace, as well as a founding investor in Uptake Technologies, a leading predictive analytics platform for the world’s largest industries; Mediaocean, a leading provider of integrated media procurement technology; Echo Global Logistics, a technology-enabled transportation and logistics outsourcing firm; and InnerWorkings, a global provider of managed print and promotional solutions.
Eric launched Tempus in 2015 with the purpose of allowing each patient to benefit from the treatment of those who came before them by giving the health-care industry with tools that learn as more data is collected. Through our interactive analytical and machine learning platform, Tempus enables physicians to provide individualised care for patients. They offer genetic sequencing and analysis of molecular and therapeutic data, allowing physicians and researchers to make data-driven decisions in real time.
Aside from that, he and his wife Liz co-chair the Lefkofsky Family Foundation, which promotes high-impact initiatives that improve lives in the communities they serve. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Science and Industry, and World Business Chicago all have Lefkofsky on their boards of trustees.
