is the founder of SilveryNanos, a nanotechnology solution that may be used once on a toilet to keep it infection-free, waterless, odor-free, clean, and hygienic for months.
After being diagnosed with a urinary tract infection in 2014, Divya Mahendra Rathod was unable to attend her first year of microbiology lectures at Bhavan’s College. This led to her partnering with her professor on the development of a paint that could be applied to toilets to offer an infection-free surface the following year.

Divya’s move from scientist to entrepreneur required a steep learning curve, notwithstanding Silver Nanos’ rapid growth as a successful social venture. She was able to overcome several of these obstacles by joining Youth Co:Lab, a UNDP and Citi Foundation-led project.
Hapito, a line of revolutionary products from Silvery Nanos, is a nano-alloy spray on application that generates a thin film inside and outside the toilet, providing bacteriostatic action with antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antibiofilm qualities.

HAPITO is made up of a variety of nanoparticles that make it water and stain repellent, as well as antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antibiofilm. It works by creating a thin, transparent layer on a toilet that inhibits bacteria from growing and infecting the user.
HAPITO not only protects women and other toilet users from UTIs, but it also saves up to 55% of the water used to clean toilets and reduces the quantity of chemicals that wind up in water bodies.
The nano-alloy chemistry aspect of Silverynanos’ product is currently its own composition. Divya says that while there are competitors who use the same marketing strategy, the company’s unique composition sets it apart.

BIRAC, IIT Eureka, NMIMS Chancellor’s Challenge, and the RB INGEN Challenge awarded the founder a total of Rs 15 lakh in prize money. She also took second place in the Reckitt InGen Challenge, which TiE Delhi-NCR and Reckitt collaborated on lately to find Indian inventors with solutions for specific hygiene requirements.
