David Howden is the founder of Howden Group Holdings which  provides a comprehensive range of risk management solutions to organisations and individuals all over the world. It is a major worldwide insurance company with a strong focus on employee ownership. It consists of Howden Broking, DUAL Underwriting, and HX Data Analytics and Digital Delivery.

In 1981, David began his career as a broker at Alexander Howden. He started the Hpwden Group in 1994 as a wholesale broker with only three employees. He was the driving force behind the company’s growth into a multinational insurance conglomerate that provides wholesale, retail, reinsurance broking, and underwriting services. David’s responsibilities as Chief Executive include guiding the Group’s M&A activities, as well as directing and implementing the Group’s strategic growth and development plans.

Though the size has shifted since then, those ideals remain at the core of what distinguishes them. Howden Group Holdings now employs 8,500 people in 40 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.
