CBSE Board Exams 2020: Parents of students have demanded from the Supreme Court that the remaining 12th class papers of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) should not be conducted, as the coronavirus is spreading rapidly in the country, in such a situation Exams can pose a risk to children. In the petition filed on behalf of the parents, it has been demanded that the decision taken by CBSE to conduct the remaining board exam of 12th class should be canceled.

In fact, due to the coronavirus, the lockdown was implemented in March, and schools and colleges across the country were also closed. At the time when the lockdown was implemented, some of the board papers were left. CBSE has decided to conduct all the remaining papers of the 12th Board (CBSE Board Exams) between July 1 and July 15. The parents of some children of the 12th board have filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this decision of CBSE.

The petition said that coronavirus is growing rapidly in the country. In such a situation, the safety of students is in danger. The petition demanded that the result should be released on the basis of the average of the internal assessment in the paper so far and the remaining paper for the 12th class.

In the petition, raising the question of the safety of millions of children, it has been said that in the event of appearing in the examination, these students can be exposed to Kovid-19 infection. It has been appealed to the court to cancel the notification issued by CBSE on May 18 for conducting the examination of the remaining subjects and on the basis of this, the board should be directed to declare the result of the 12th.

Not only this, till the disposal of the petition, it has also been requested to stop the notification of the board. According to the petition, in view of the seriousness of the situation of Kovid-19, the Board had canceled the examination of 10th and 12th in about 250 schools abroad and decided to give marks to students on the basis of marks or internal assessment of practical examinations. The petition said that in April this year, the board had instructed the students of class IX and 11th to promote them to the next class on the basis of their school’s assessment. The petition said that on May 25, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development had announced to conduct examinations for class 10th and 12th in about 15,000 examination centers, whereas earlier examinations were conducted only in 3000 centers.

It has been argued in the petition that several leading educational institutions like IITs have canceled their examinations in view of the coronavirus epidemic. Raising the issue of the status of examination centers in the petition, it has been said that these centers can also come in the area prone to infection.
