Pierina Merino – Founder of the Social App- FlickPlay

Pierina Merino is a Venezuelan tech entrepreneur behind FlickPlay, a revolutionary platform changing the planet of social storytelling through innovative use of augmented reality (AR).

With plans of launching in Q1 2020, the corporation has been backed by seasoned VCs from San Francisco and top executives from Snap and Google. Previously, she launched the primary 3D printed line to be sold at Nordstrom, nationally. She also led Creative and style strategy for premium VR experiences for luxury fashion brands.

Earlier in her career, she worked as an Architect for Frank Gehry, where she played a key role within the design and development of iconic large scale architectural projects. Her career has revolved around innovation and pushing the boundaries of technology to bring the physical and digital world closer together.

Possessing a robust attraction to style integrated with technology, Pierina Merino began her first start-up at age 26, bootstrapping PIEMER, original jewelry designs created with 3D printing technology. The brand had phenomenal success at Nordstrom and was nominated for the style Rising Brand Award by the l. a. Business Journal in November of 2017. Merino also received a call for participation to exhibit her brand within the l. a. Architecture and style Museum.

On Merino’s video-sharing social app FlickPlay, users can explore augmented reality experiences from around the world, play games and elevate their content with lively filters. FlickPlay’s map game powers the connection between the situation for an AR experience and therefore the actual game. Users create and interact with video content within the platform, competing with community members through video challenges for leaderboard status, rewards and exclusive access. The platform also rewards brand interactions.
