Fraud TRP case against Republic TV

The Mumbai Police has claimed to have busted the TRP racket. Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh  gave a statement in the press conference held on Thursday stating that the owners of two channels have been arrested in this case. The big-name Republic TV is also associated in this alleged fraud . Mumbai has accessed proof against Republic TV from the diary of one of the accused. As per sources, many household entries were found in the diary of accused  Vishal Ved Bhandari after he, as a report revealed that the induced household were BARC ( Broadcast Audience Research Council ) barometers, are installed to watch Republic TV for a specific time everyday

for monetary consideration to increase the viewership of the said channel which resulted in TRP manipulation.

After it came to light that India Today has been mentioned multiple times in the FIR over which Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh had attempted to implicate Republic TV, Republic Network’s Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami on Thursday demanded the resignation of Mumbai CP observing that Singh had been totally exposed, he stressed that Republic TV was not even mentioned in the FIR copy accessed by the network.

He expressed his dismay that the Mumbai Police Commissioner had closed the investigation against India Today and instead addressed republic tv. Moreover, Arnab said that the main witness in the case has gone on record and named Indian Today. Earlier in the day, he announced that Republic TV will file a criminal defamation case against Parambir Singh.
