new Delhi. The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has come out openly regarding the boycott of Chinese goods. In view of the boycott of Chinese goods on behalf of CAIT, it has been decided to start a big campaign from Wednesday i.e. June 10. This campaign will be helpful in promoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’. It has been said by CAIT that our goal is to reduce India’s imports of Chinese goods by about Rs 1.5 lakh crore by December 2021.

CAIT has made such a list of about 3 thousand products imported from China, which will not make any difference to India due to non-import of goods and all those items are already being made in India. CAIT’s National General Secretary Pravin Khandelwal said that under this campaign, where CAIT will urge traders not to sell sugar, it will urge the people of the country to use indigenous products instead of sugar. CAIT state president Mahendra Goyal said that CAIT will play an important role in making PM Local’s call ‘Vocal on Local’ a success.

Kat says traders and citizens of India have taken a pledge to boycott Chinese goods. This work will not happen in one night but we will start it and achieve our goal.

$ 6 billion import reduced from China

As a result of these initiatives, imports from China have decreased from $ 76 billion in 2017-18 to $ 70 billion currently. Khandelwal said that this $ 6 billion import decline tells the story of the use of indigenous goods and changing consumer sentiments.

He said that through such efforts CAIT is eyeing India’s imports of Chinese goods worth about $ 13 billion (about 1 lakh crore rupees) by December 2021 and has prepared a comprehensive list of about 3,000 products imported from China. For which Indian options are readily available.
