Vimal Daga Arrested in Gurugram as Technology Entrepreneur Faces Serious Criminal Allegations
GURUGRAM: Technology entrepreneur and LinuxWorld Informatics founder Vimal Daga has been arrested by Gurugram Police in connection with a criminal case involving allegations of sexual assault, physical violence, intimidation, digital harassment and financial coercion.
The development places a prominent name from India’s technology training ecosystem at the centre of a serious criminal investigation. Daga has built a public profile through his work in technology education and professional training, particularly in areas connected with software, cloud and emerging technology.
The case was registered at DLF Police Station, Gurugram, on July 29, 2026. According to the FIR, Daga and two other individuals have been named as accused. The case includes charges under Sections 313, 323, 34, 376(2)(n), 406 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

The complaint relates to events allegedly dating back to 2017. According to the complainant’s account recorded in the FIR, she came into contact with Daga and subsequently entered into a relationship after allegedly receiving assurances concerning marriage.
The complaint alleges that the relationship later involved physical assault, threats and psychological pressure. It also contains allegations concerning pregnancy and an alleged miscarriage.
Financial allegations form another significant part of the complaint. The complainant has alleged financial coercion involving approximately 70 lakh and has separately referred to approximately 10.5 lakh as a personal loan.
The FIR also describes allegations involving digital communications. According to the complaint, multiple mobile numbers and email accounts were allegedly used in connection with harassment and threats. The complaint further alleges that private digital material was used as a means of exerting pressure.
Daga’s reported arrest comes against the backdrop of an earlier and separate Jaipur controversy in which he had himself approached the police over allegations involving blackmail and extortion. The latest Gurugram proceedings are legally separate and involve allegations made against Daga.
The contrasting developments have brought renewed attention to the wider series of disputes surrounding the technology entrepreneur. However, the two cases should not be treated as establishing the truth of either side’s allegations.
The Gurugram investigation is now expected to examine statements, financial transactions, communications and electronic evidence relevant to the allegations.
