Many reactions have been coming to light since the Indian government banned China’s 59 apps, including TicTalk. While some people are justifying this decision, there are others who are criticizing this decision because with the help of these apps, employment opportunities were becoming available for many people in India. Trinamool Congress MP and actress Nusrat Jahan has also described this decision of Modi government as an impulse decision and compared this decision to demonetization.

Nusrat said, now what will happen to those who become unemployed after the ban on Chinese apps? If this decision has been taken for National Security, then I have no problem with it and I support this decision. But does the government have a backup plan for such people?

Nusrat further said that if you take such decisions then there should be some strategy and backup plan. China’s companies cannot be defeated just by banning apps. From LED bulbs to home-based ACs, Chinese companies are present everywhere. What is the answer? Is there a strategy to counter this?

He further said, Talking as a performer, TikTok is just a social media platform for which I can entertain my fans with the help of this. Nusrat also said that by banning apps, the central government is throwing dust in the eyes of the people and is trying to divert people’s attention from the flattened economy.

Ban on Chinese apps is the same as demonetization: Nusrat

Nusrat compared this decision with the demonetisation and said that it would affect the lives of many people because many artists were running their livelihood with the help of such online platforms. He said, if you want to run the Swadeshi Movement, then the government should call the NRI people present in Google and NASA so that they can create such apps that can create employment opportunities for Indians. With this, we will not even need Chinese apps. Banning apps, like demonetisation, is of no use.
