Baba Ramdev has claimed to make medicine
Baba Ramdev has claimed that the whole world has not yet been able to make the corona virus vaccine. Baba Ramdev announced on Tuesday that Patanjali has made a medicine to defeat the corona virus, which will completely cure patients within a week. Baba is describing this as a big achievement, but the government did not like this thing and now the matter became the cause of controversy.
Baba Ramdev announced at a press conference on the afternoon of 23 June at 1 pm that Patanjali has succeeded in making ‘Coronil’ medicine to cure corona virus patients. This announcement of Baba Ramdev went live on all TV channels. As soon as the AYUSH ministry of the Central Government got the news of this, taking automatic cognizance, they stopped the promotion of this medicine, and also sought the necessary information from Patanjali.
Claim on medicine became the reason for controversy!
On behalf of the Ministry of AYUSH, it was said that no information has been reached with the Ministry regarding the factual and scientific study of the claims made by the Patanjali Company. The ministry even told Patanjali that promoting such drugs that 100 percent treatment of corona is a violation of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Offensive Advertising) Act, 1954. When the matter caught fire due to this response from the Ministry of AYUSH, Patanjali was told that there was a communication gap, it has now gone away. Saying this, the Patanjali Research Foundation Trust sent a letter to the Ministry of AYUSH on Tuesday evening, claiming to give all the information related to medicine.
Duty Council Deepak Anand Christ in Criminal Lawyer and International Criminal Court has told Aaj Tak that the law gives license to make medicine, not to claim. Whereas Baba Ramdev claimed in a press conference that ‘coronil’ will cure 69 percent within 3 days and corona patients 100 percent within 7 days and the death rate is zero. It is important to note that different medicines are being given to patients of Corona virus in all countries of the world including India, which are also helping to cure patients. But all these medicines are only going to reduce the effect of corona, out of which many medicines were already present in the market, but so far no vaccine has been made in the world which can eliminate the corona virus 100%. While Baba Ramdev has claimed 100 percent treatment.
In the information sought by the Ministry of AYUSH, Patanjali has been asked to give details of the elements used in coronil medicine. Also, where the study has been done on medicine, give the name of the place, the name of the hospital, protocol, sample size as well. Apart from this, the ministry also sought the approval of the Institutional Ethics Committee, CTRI registration and data of the results of the study.
It is clear from these questions of the Ministry that the central government did not even have important information about the medicine by which Patanjali claimed 100 percent of corona patients. On the other hand, the rules which are being followed in the entire country ranging from Corona Testing to Social Distancing, have also been decided by the Central Government body ICMR. In such a situation, no one in the whole world has been able to claim the vaccine which completely cured the corona patients, when Baba Ramdev made it, the matter caught fire.
Now though Baba Ramdev says that all guidelines have been followed in the research of medicine and according to the rules, coronil medicine is being brought in the market. But the government has said that the protocol was not followed.
Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik has said in a special conversation with Aaj Tak that Baba Ramdev should not have announced his medicine in the media without getting permission from the ministry. He said that he had sent the answers that were asked to Baba Ramdev. Now the task force will review what formula they have adopted. After which he will be allowed, but according to the protocol for making medicines and bringing it to the market, according to him, Pantjali should have taken permission before the Ministry of AYUSH, which has not been taken.
