Even though it may not be a popular or extensively practiced sport in India, equestrian has gained ground there as a niche activity. As a result of Fouad Mirza’s achievements at the just finished Tokyo Olympics, the sport also attracted a lot of attention. He was the third equestrian from India to earn a spot in the Olympics. It put an end to India’s two-decade wait for equestrian representation at the Summer Games. The Embassy International Riding School (EIRS) in Bengaluru provides help for Mirza.
Storai first arrived in India in the 1980s as a young man who enjoyed riding horses. When Silva Storai was 17 years old, she traveled to India via Pakistan and Afghanistan. She has claimed that crossing the Wagah Border felt like returning home. For more than 20 years, Storai has served as the director of the Embassy International Riding School, which has produced several champions in the field. She started participating in the sport at the age of 13, and during the course of her extensive and prosperous career, she has seen the sport grow significantly.
