The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science has recently released a list of members for the Academy Awards, i.e., the Oscar Awards 2021 voting board. The names of Alia Bhatt and Hrithik Roshan were also included in the list of these 800 film professionals. Now three more filmmakers from India have been added to this list. The names of these filmmakers are Nishtha Jain, Shirley Abraham and Amit Madhesia. All of them have studied post-graduate from Jamia Millia Islamia.

Nishtha Jain is a National Award Winner Filmmaker. She has made documentaries like Pink Gang, Laxmi and Me, City of Photos, Family Album and At My Doorstep. Gulabi Gang received the National Award in the year 2014. She has won 25 National and International Awards so far. He has also directed his first feature film Proof in the year 2019. Jain also received the Chicken and Egg Award for his film Golden Thread in the year 2020.

Shirley Abraham and Amit Madhesia work together and their most popular documentary is The Cinema Travels. This documentary has been made about the roaming cinema. It took about 8 years to prepare this documentary. So far, this film has received more than 120 nominations and has also received the National Award. Along with the National Award, this documentary has been nominated at the Cannes, New York and Toronto Film Festivals.

Shirley Abraham has told in an interview that neither he had filled any nomination form for this nor did he apply anywhere. This year, the jury for the Oscars was named by one of them. Only after the list of those who got the membership of Oscar, this list reached them with the help of one of their friends, then they did not believe that they had achieved such a big achievement.
