The way to promote the show was costly for the channel, complaint reached to Mumbai Police
People are being called from unknown numbers to promote Sony Live’s show undekhi. A user got a similar call, after which he has lambasted Sony Liv on Twitter.
Creative producer Smriti Kiran received a similar call, after which she has lambasted Sony Liv on Twitter. Smriti had expressed concern by tweeting about her after hearing the call. However, he did not know then that he was not a call from a real person, but a call to promote a show. As soon as he came to know about this, he heard Sonny Liv outright.
In the first tweet, Smriti Kiran wrote to the Mumbai Police expressing concern and wrote – I got a very annoying call from an unknown number. The Mumbai Police has seen a person being murdered. He has recorded this on his phone and now the perpetrator wants to kill him. After telling this much, that person disconnected the phone. He was crying while talking.
After this, when Smriti came to know that this call was not real but was promotional, he got angry. He wrote while listening to Sony Live – You should be ashamed Sony Live. I just found out that it was a promotional call for your new show. How scared I was after receiving this call. Have you guys gone mad ??? Mumbai Police will have to do something for you. This is immoral and bad thing.
Shame on you @SonyLIV I just got to know that this call is a promotional gimmick for your new show. I was on the floor breathless with panic when I got it. Are you out of your mind doing this??? @MumbaiPolice you must take action. This is appalling and unethical. https://t.co/4Vp1YAzYjW
