The trick of a Chinese aircraft operating by water was caught!
China claims that its indigenously developed AG600 is the world’s largest amphibious (amphibious) aircraft that can operate even under difficult weather and environmental conditions. But in the video shown in it, there is clear evidence of morphing with major editing mistakes.
- Amphibious attempts to show the flight successful
- Big mistake of editing in video, clear evidence of morphing
- The truth of China’s video revealed by OSINT investigation
People’s Daily, the official mouthpiece of China, has made many mistakes regarding the name system of missile systems, video dates etc. People’s Daily has been considered a reliable news source but it has also started cracking.
The latest case is more than a minor lapse. The Twitter handle of the mouthpiece @PDChina tweeted a video on July 27, 2020. The video was related to the first flight of the AG600 aircraft of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). This flight took place a day earlier. In this video, there is clear evidence of morphing with major editing mistakes.

Designed to be the world's #largest, China's independently developed AG600 large #amphibious #aircraft has conducted its 1st taking off from the sea surface in Qingdao, E China’s Shandong, on Sunday. The India Today Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) team geolocated various parts of the video. This indicates that the first flight was not as successful as it was claimed.
Take off
The AG600 Amphibious (amphibious) aircraft is a type that can operate from the calm waters of Lake Pangang So in Ladakh. In the video of its first flight, it can be seen starting its run from the Kingdoms cruise terminal, which is seen at 0:01 seconds.
The frame suddenly shifts to a different position at 0:02 seconds. Geolocation indicates that the place is very familiar and has a typical five-pentagonal pentagonal building near the Qingdao Amphibious Aircraft Base.
After this, the aircraft continues its run for take off at 0:05 seconds. This indicates that the run of the aircraft is more than 4.5 kilometers. This aircraft will definitely be without any load.
Flying such aircraft with a load in bad weather, especially during emergencies, now appears to be a difficult task.
‘Super Helicopter’
The People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) and Navy (PLAN) of China regularly use helicopters to take photographs of the first flight of new aircraft.
The helicopter seen above the AG600 aircraft in the video looks like a ‘super helicopter’. It suddenly appears at 0:03 seconds and suddenly disappears within a second.
The helicopter reappears in the middle of the frame at 0:07 and is seen hovering over the plane until the end of the clip.
The helicopter then gains incredible speed from 0:10 to 0:13 to move much faster than the aircraft. From an aircraft that flew with four WJ-6 turboprop engines.
All this blatant tact leads to the conclusion that the first flight of China’s largest amphibious aircraft AG600 was probably not a major success. The published video features a lot of morphing and editing. This was done only with the intention of showing the world that this flight was very successful.
