Sophie Beshar has built a reputation in venture capital by combining sharp instincts with a hands-on approach to investing. A partner at Insight Partners since 2019, she focuses on high-growth software and internet companies, bringing a diverse background that spans roles at Google, Goldman Sachs and even a US presidential campaign.

Her approach to investing became especially evident in 2025, when she came across Delve, a startup founded by two MIT dropouts working on compliance technology. Early on, Beshar and her team noticed that the company was scaling faster than typical for its stage, signalling strong potential.

What followed reflects her style as an investor. She moved quickly through diligence and even flew to San Francisco at short notice, spending a week closely working with the founders to better understand the business. That level of involvement helped Insight Partners lead Delve’s $32 million Series A at a $300 million valuation, backing the company at a crucial stage of growth.

Beyond individual deals, Beshar’s philosophy is rooted in one key trait—curiosity. In an industry where technology shifts rapidly, she believes the ability to keep learning is what sets great investors apart.

She emphasises the importance of asking deeper questions and being comfortable with uncertainty, noting that the most effective investors are those who are willing to admit what they don’t yet know—and then work to understand it.

Her journey reflects a broader shift in venture capital, where speed, conviction and continuous learning are becoming essential.

Because in a fast-changing tech landscape, curiosity isn’t just a mindset—it’s an advantage.
