Shriya Sekhsaria is the founder and CEO of Lumhaa: The Memory Jar Company which is a collaborative social media platform that enables users to make handmade and digital memory jars – time capsules for the people, relationships, and experiences they value. It aids users in organizing their memories in electronic memory jars. Additionally, it provides a list of “physical objects” created by regional craftspeople.

Shriya was born and raised in India and obtained degrees in psychology, entrepreneurship, finance, and European cultural studies from Princeton University. Shriya has held positions as co-founder and CEO of BodhiMetrics and also worked at Goldman Sachs. When Shriya was writing a non-fiction book about critically ill children in India in 2015, she got the inspiration for memory jars from a book. The plan was to gather money for their medical care, but regrettably, many of them passed away before the book could be released.

Making and revisiting memory jars was found to increase happiness, decrease loneliness, and improve psychological well being. She chose to research memory jars for my psychology thesis at Princeton. Additionally, Princeton University and a few angel investors have provided funds to Lumhaa.

Her well-regarded psychological studies, which showed that memory jars increased psychological well-being and made individuals happier, served as the foundation for the company. She has won the 2020 Women STEM Entrepreneurs of the Year award, is an All East archer, and a best-selling author.
