Saoud Khalifah, Founder Of FakeSpot
Saoud Khalifah is the founder of FakeSpot, a startup that provides tools to detect false listings and reviews online. It’s an internet service that analyses reviews and assigns a score based on its legitimacy to potential consumers for better shopping and selections.
Saoud has extensive experience in software development, artificial intelligence, and data authentication. He has a BS/MS in Software Engineering and has over 15 years of experience writing software. Prior to founding Fakespot, Saoud worked as a software engineer on Goldman Sachs’ equities trading platform and taught computer science and software engineering to undergraduate and graduate students at Monmouth University.
After multiple Amazon purchases that did not match the ratings he depended on, he developed Fakespot in 2016. Starting with e-commerce, Saoud is passionate about restoring trust and transparency to online information. Saoud Khalifah was upset when a flimsy parcel filled with wood dust capsules arrived at his door after enough five-star ratings convinced him to buy a nutritious supplement on Amazon.
He founded Fakespot, a service that utilizes artificial intelligence to evaluate millions of reviews and find evidence of bias or unreliability in ratings or reviewers. Since its launch in 2016, the free service has been used by 20 million users to examine reviews on Amazon, Best Buy, Sephora, Walmart, and Yelp. Fakespot recently released a groundbreaking Chrome plugin that protects online shoppers against scams.
Their patented system analyses billions of user evaluations to swiftly spot suspicious behavior and then suggest better choices to customers. Starting with eCommerce, their objective is to restore confidence and transparency to the Internet by removing misinformation and fraud.
