Sabeer Bhatia is Back in the Business with ShowReel
Sabeer Bhatia, the Silicon Valley-based tech entrepreneur who co-founded Hotmail, has launched ShowReel, a social video chat platform that helps people locate the finest jobs and businesses recruit at scale.
Showreel is a purpose-driven social video messaging network that helps link job seekers and employers, empowering people with upskilling and employment opportunities. It is currently in the Beta stage.
Bhatia hopes that by combining short films and targeted interviews, he can create a platform that millions, if not hundreds of millions, of people, can use for everything from landing that dream job to pitching a VC investor to finding a life partner.
Aside from job searchers, ShowReel also assists company entrepreneurs in creating a short video pitch that highlights their ideas, as well as professional managers in determining their leadership style. People can also use these short movies to communicate about their personal lives, their interests, and their preferences. On their profile page, they can also make these films public or private.
ShowReel will be directed by Bhatia, who has put up a small team in Kochi, including a software development team, while the company will be based in Silicon Valley. In the long run, he anticipates related applications such as doctor consultations, where users might answer a series of questions about their health on ShowReel and receive advice from experts.
Sabeer’s goal with ShowReel is to use technology to make a positive difference in people’s lives. It is a virtual replica of offline human interactions that strives to empower people to reach their full potential by democratizing free access to mentors like Sabeer Bhatia and, in turn, allowing employment and upskilling chances for job seekers all around the world at major firms.
