The government will not release any data on CPI (consumer price inflation) based inflation growth for April and May 2020. Actually, the lockdown came into force on 25 March in the country, so the data will not be released due to insufficient data collection.

The Ministry of Statistics said in a statement that industrial production data for April 2020 and retail inflation for April-May will also not release any data. The government says that fewer transactions took place during this period and the figures would not be released as the exact data was not revealed.

However, limited data released by the ministry showed annual retail food inflation came in at 9.28% in May, up from 10.5% in the previous month.
