Very important for India
Raghuraj Rajan said that this situation is very important for economies like India and Brazil that are going to reopen between Kovid-19. Along with this, Raghuram Rajan cautioned that there may be many such companies in the economy which will be decaying. He said that along with the revival process after the epidemic, we will also need to fix things.
Addressing the conference on the topic ‘The New Global Economic Norm: Post Kovid-19’, Rajan said, “The tension between the US and China will be very important for emerging economies like India, Brazil and Mexico.” When these countries are opening up their economies, they will need to demand, so that they can overcome.
No control despite lockdown
Raghuram Rajan said, “There are many countries in which control could not be achieved despite lockdown.” America is a prime example of this. The same happened in India, Brazil and Mexico. Whereas these countries spent very high costs.
State of uncertainty
He said that the main issue at this time is to prevent infection. Unfortunately this infection has spread much more. It will not be easy to control it. According to Raghuram Rajan, this has created a lot of uncertainty. Companies do not know if a fresh lockdown will be imposed. If it does, then how hard will it be. Rajan said that some states in India are also discussing lockdown. In fact, some have also started applying it.
What did you say at work from home?
Rajan said that 45 to 50 percent of the population in developed countries can work from home (work from home). In such a situation, work can continue there even in lockdown. But in poor and developing countries and emerging markets, very few people can work from home.
