Now only 16 such districts in India, where there is not a single corona case

• There are less than 100 infection cases in more than 250 districts
• No district has more than 8% cases in Bihar

The dreaded corona virus has spread badly across India. Now only a few selected districts are left in the country, where not a single corona case was revealed. There are at least 81 districts where more than 1,000 cases have been reported.

The website “covid19india.org” shows that reliable data is not always available in every Indian district. For example, Delhi has not presented all the figures of its 11 districts correctly. Andhra Pradesh and Assam are two other states with a relatively high number of cases, but district figures have not been presented and therefore cannot be included in this analysis.

Now there are only 16 or less districts in the country where there is not a single corona case. These districts are in Lakshadweep, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Jammu and Kashmir. There are less than 100 cases in more than 250 districts and 100 to 200 cases in 143 districts.

On the other hand, at least 70 districts have officially reported more than 1,000 cases. There are likely to be more than 1,000 cases in each of the 11 districts of Delhi. More than 5,000 cases have been registered in at least 14 districts out of 70. Most of these districts are one of the major cities of India. There are only 86 countries in the world, where there are more than 5,000 cases.

In most states of India, such districts where the state capital is present, have the highest number of cases. For example, 42 per cent of the 2 lakh cases of Maharashtra are in Mumbai only. Out of 1.07 lakh cases in Tamil Nadu, 62 percent are in Chennai only.

But there are some exceptions that are worth noting. For example, in Uttar Pradesh, the district with the highest number of cases is not the capital city of Lucknow, but Gautam Buddha Nagar, which includes Noida adjacent to Delhi. Similarly, Haryana has the highest number of cases (35 per cent) in Gurugram adjacent to Delhi. Kerala’s highest international migration district Malappuram has the highest number of cases.

Corona cases are not coming out equally in all states. This applies not only to large cities with high population density, high migration, but also to capitals and large cities where testing is being focused on. Bihar is the state where the corona cases are most scattered. There are 11,457 cases in the state and are spread over all the districts. There is no such district, including the capital Patna, where more than 8 percent of the total cases of the state.

Telangana has seen a big boom at present, which presents a different example. Here about eight out of every 10 cases in the state have been found in Hyderabad. There are five districts in the state, in which more than 1 percent of the total cases of the state are cases.
