Maximising Her HR Skills To the Fullest With CRY, Puja Marwaha
Puja Marwaha is the CEO of CRY (Child Rights and You), a pioneer in the field of public philanthropy in India, having pioneered the retail model of giving through selling greeting cards, direct mailing, and the country’s first face-to-face marketing channel of donating.
For the past ten years, Puja Marwaha has served as the CEO of CRY. Puja wanted to put her HR abilities to good use after graduating from Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), thus she moved from the corporate to the social sector early in her career. In 1994, she became a member of CRY. Puja believes that children should be at the center of all human development efforts, demonstrating her passion for children and helping them reach their full potential.
Puja previously worked at Citicorp. She is an Aspire India fellow, a VANI board member, and a member of the Ashoka Fellowship jury. Puja has nurtured a significant number of organizations and people throughout the course of her career, enabling them to connect at the level of individual belief to the goal of all rights for all children. Puja has been an integral part of CRY’s development over the past 26 years. Her work focuses on developing an organizational structure that aims to improve children’s attitudes and make a difference in the lives of poor youngsters.
CRY has impacted the lives of over four million children through supporting over 300 grassroots initiatives across India, many of which are located in remote and economically depressed areas. Puja’s work focuses on tackling malnutrition, improving educational opportunities, and putting an end to child labour, early marriage, and other types of child violence.
