Apple Silicon – Apple will now create its own processors for computers. The company said that it was being worked on for many years. By the end of this year, the Apple chipset Mac will be in the market.

American tech company Apple has made a big announcement. During the keynote session of the WWDC2020 World Wide Developer Conference, the company’s CEO Tim Cook has said that the company will now make its own chip for its Mac computers. Intel chipsets have been used till now.

For example, just as Apple makes processors for its iPhone by itself, now the company will also make processors for its laptops and computers.Tim Cook described it as a historic day. In the future, Macs will use their ARM based silicon. Later this year, the company will launch the first Mac with Apple Silicon.

It is not that Apple will stop making computers or laptops with Intel processors. Since the transition will take about 2 years and till then Intel’s processors will also be used. Tim Cook has also said that some Intel based Max will be launched soon.

MacOS Big Sur has also been introduced during this keynote session, which is for Apple’s laptops and computers. This is actually macOS 11 and with it the era of macOS X is over.

The advantage of ARM based Apple’s own chipset will be that iOS will start working on macOS in the coming time. This will make the Apple ecosystem better than before and people will also give it more preference.

The company has said that most apps will work in it. This means that you will be able to use your iPhone’s native app on Apple’s computer or MacBook. Right now the company has to customize the apps according to different platforms and because of this some features are not worth using.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering has said that Apple’s own Pro Apps have been made capable of supporting the company’s new silicon with macOS Big Sur. The company hopes that developers will also update their apps accordingly.
