Rajdeep said that the Chinese army has not returned from where it has arrived.
An interesting debate was seen in India Today’s special prime-time show news track about the increasing activities of the Indian Army on the China border. On one side, news director Rahul Kanwal and on the other side, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai took over. Rahul Kanwal believed that after the violent clash in Galvan Valley, the Modi government has given a strong message to China, while Rajdeep said that the job of the opposition is to ask questions and the government cannot ignore it.
Starting the debate, Rahul Kanwal said that during Pandit Nehru, the Air Force was not used on the China border, whereas this time we are ready to use all our weapons there. The clear message to China is that if we can use the air force in Balakot, then why not there.
Actually, Rahul Kanwal said this because information came from Leh that the Air Force has also increased its capacity near LAC. Senior executive editor Gaurav Sawant, who went on ground reporting there, had said that the Air Force has deployed Chinook and Apache attack helicopters here, as well as fighter aircraft like Sukhoi, Mirage and MiG.
Commenting on Rahul Kanwal’s talk, Rajdeep Sardesai said that I believe it is a bit different. I think it makes no sense to deploy your army on the border and send a strong message to China. Did the Chinese army come back from where it has arrived, no. The same thing happened in Doklam, the Chinese army retreated but remained around there. In this case, I have two questions as to how the intrusion took place, did the PM tell in an all-party meeting what happened that day in Galvan.
Rajdeep said that there is a dispute in this area. You cannot say exactly which place belongs to India and which place belongs to China. PM Modi said that no one came to our land. So, what was coming about the movement of the Chinese Army for the last 2 months, were all of them false. Now PM Modi is saying that there is no intrusion on our land. But the opposition, especially the Congress, is questioning it.
When Rahul Kanwal said about Rahul Gandhi’s questions, let the government and army do their work. So Rajdeep said that questions will be asked. You can not get away from it.
