India demands Pakistan to hand over Dawood Ibrahim, Sayeed Salahudeen

India’s most wanted criminal Dawood Ibrahim is in Pakistan. After many years, Pakistan has finally accepted it. In fact, Pakistan has imposed stringent financial sanctions on 88 banned terrorist organizations, including Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar and Dawood Ibrahim. Apart from this, orders have also been given to seize the properties of these people and seal the bank accounts. This order was issued on 18 August. Let us tell you that Dawood Ibrahim is the main accused in the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai on 12 March 1993.

In these blasts in different places, 257 people were killed while around 1400 people were injured. Dawood Ibrahim was absconding since these blasts. Another convict of these attacks, Yakub Menon, was sentenced to death in Nagpur jail on 30 July 2015. Although India has repeatedly given evidence of Dawood being in the Pakistani city of Karachi, but each time Pakistan has denied these proofs. India has also demanded Pakistan to hand over Dawood, but India has felt despondent every time.

Now that Pakistan has agreed that Dawood Ibrahim, the head of D Company, is in Pakistan, then the talk of India has definitely gained strength. However, experts believe that it is not a matter of being overjoyed. Speaking to Dainik Jagran, former Ambassador and Rajya Sabha MP HK Dua said that nothing is going to happen. They also say that Pakistan has taken this step only in view of the forthcoming FATF meeting. According to him, the sword of blacklist has been hanging on Pakistan for the last two years. If the blacklist gets listed then there will be a string of strict restrictions on it, which could prove to be the last nail of the coffin for its ruined economy.

Let me tell you that Dua has also been a member of the National Security Advisory Committee. They believe that only by disclosing Dawood, Pakistan has postponed the trouble coming to its head for a few days. As far as handing Dawood to India is concerned, he is never going to do it. According to him, he has just done a trick to show off and he will continue to do similar false actions in the future. All this will be to throw dust in the eyes of the world. In fact, other terrorist organizations, including Dawood in Pakistan, would continue to work the same way or as they were working earlier.

In the case of Dawood, what will be the US’s stand on India’s arguments on the international stage and this new move by Pakistan? In response to this question, he said that at the moment Pakistan also needs America. The latest steps taken by Pakistan are proof of this. But presidential elections are to be held in the US in November this year. Therefore, he will hardly take any step in this regard. Till the election, President Trump will fully focus on him, not Dawood, India or Pakistan. Although they definitely believe that India will take some action in this regard, but its success cannot be guaranteed.
