Impacting Lives With Impact and Dialogue Foundation, Pallabi Ghosh
Pallabi Ghosh is the founder and director of Impact and Dialogue Foundation which is a group that has educated and engaged more than 75000 women in 20 rural Assam districts on topics such as trafficking, gender-based violence, and the adverse effects of social media.
Pallabi was nurtured in Lumding, Assam, where she was born. She joined Shakti Vahini to advance her work after earning her BA from Delhi University and a master’s in gender studies from Chennai.
In 2016, Pallabi resigned from Shakti Vahini and started working for other anti-trafficking organizations. After spending more than a decade working directly with the survivors, Pallabi realized that simply saving someone from trafficking would not be helpful until the person was rehabilitated. In addition, the proportion of those who are saved is only one-tenth that of those who are victims of trafficking. Pallabi established the Impact & Dialogue Foundation in 2020 as a result, with the goal of stopping human trafficking at its origin.
Since January 2021, when child abuse was at its peak, the organization has eliminated child marriage, arrested traffickers, stopped school dropouts, reported substance abuse, and prevented other forms of violence against children by adopting various storytelling mediums and incorporating them into activities such as role plays and skits. and by having an effect on their life, is bringing about change.
