Gaza Sees Deadliest Day Since Ceasefire as Israeli Strikes Kill Over 20

At least 21 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip, marking the deadliest single day since the ceasefire came into effect, according to medical officials and local authorities.

The strikes reportedly targeted residential areas in Gaza City and parts of southern Gaza, including temporary tent settlements housing displaced families near Khan Younis. Hospitals across the enclave reported a sharp influx of casualties, overwhelming already strained medical facilities.

Health officials said women and children were among the dead, while dozens more sustained injuries. Emergency response teams continued rescue operations amid damaged infrastructure and power outages.

Israeli authorities have not issued a detailed statement on the latest strikes, though they have maintained that military operations are conducted against militant targets. International humanitarian organisations have expressed concern over civilian safety and called for restraint.

The escalation has raised fears of a collapse of the fragile ceasefire, with diplomats urging renewed mediation to prevent further loss of life.
