Sonia Shah is the founder of Raaso Cleaning Pvt. Ltd., a Made in India brand that has created non-toxic and biodegradable products. Raaso Cleaning is India’s first Vinegar and Baking Soda-powered cleaning products company, and it is now looking to establish its dominance in the world of home cleaning products.

Sonia Shah was working as an investment banker when she decided to start her own business. The dual MBA graduate has worked for Citigroup Capital Markets and Anand Rathi Investment Banking in New York. She discovered her entrepreneurial spirit after volunteering to help her family’s tea business in Siliguri, West Bengal. She returned to Mumbai in 2015 and began importing home decor products to sell to Indian wholesalers. After nearly a year of R&D, Sonia founded Raaso Cleaning Products Pvt Ltd in 2019 to develop vinegar and baking soda-powered cleaning products. SOVI (floor cleaner) and TYDI Bowl are two of Raaso’s brands (toilet cleaner).

Raaso is involved in the R&D, manufacturing, marketing, sales, and distribution of strong household cleaning products. Raaso intends to release a new laundry liquid detergent soon. 2022 holds a rigorous expansion in cards for Sonia and Raaso. The brand is in discussions with Foodhall and Haiko to expand its physical retail presence.

Sonia is also attempting to enter the business-to-business (B2B) space, but fierce price competition from unorganized players is a barrier.
