Founder Of Authentic Food Stories, Savithri Swaminathan
Savithri Swaminathan is the founder of Authentic Food Stories, a Mumbai-based firm that collaborates with home chefs to provide 20 authentic regional cuisines to discerning diners.
She graduated from IIM Bangalore with a business degree, after which she worked for Hindustan Unilever, Unilever, Mindshare, and other companies. Savithri is passionate about resurrecting vanished cuisines and heirloom recipes, as well as reintroducing home chefs to the dinner table. With experience in brand management, market research, and media, she is a complete marketing specialist.
She has global expertise, having worked in countries such as India, Thailand, Singapore, and the United Kingdom in a variety of industries including FMCG, durables, financial services, and telecommunications, and has managed projects in both Asia and Europe regions, as well as globally.
She came to Mumbai with high hopes of enjoying the city’s culinary diversity on a daily basis but was disappointed to find that most eateries cater to the lowest common denominator, which appeals to the majority. Then she conceptualized and established a start-up company in India’s fast-growing food market. Authentic Food Stories, her firm, provides a platform for home chefs to connect and produce authentic, traditional, regional cuisines for everyday meals and gatherings at home. This is accomplished through a technology platform that connects home chefs who are experienced in various regional cuisines and eager to cook at home with clients who are looking for authentic meals.
Her organization also supplies non-perishable goods throughout India. Savithri wants to bring on more chefs in Mumbai, build on what he started in Bengaluru, expand to other cities, and provide new cuisines in the future.
