David Helene is the founder and CEO of Edquity, a company that provides high school and college students with financial planning and achievement platforms. Edquity has worked with prominent partners in both the K-12 and higher education marketplaces under his leadership, including the NYC DOE, DC Public School District, IDEA Public Schools, Nevada State College, and LaGuardia Community College, to name a few.

He was formerly a co-founder of UniFi Scholars, a non-profit that teaches low-income high school students about college financial preparation. David spent over three years at The Clearing House, a financial trade organization that represents the interests of the nation’s top commercial banks, prior to joining UniFi Scholars. Prior to that, he worked as an Associate Editor for The Clearing House’s Banking Perspective, where he was one of two founding staff members of the organization’s quarterly publication and helped to grow its readership to over 18,000 people.

Edquity has worked with over 30 creative postsecondary education partners to process over $30 million in emergency grants to over 50,000 students, 40% of whom are student parents, under his leadership. He has helped the group secure approximately $8 million in funding from the ECMC Foundation, the Lumina Foundation, Strada Education Network, Imaginable Futures, WGU Labs, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and others. David was recognized to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in Social Entrepreneurship in 2020 for his efforts at Edquity.
