The CBI is investigating the Sushant Singh Rajput case following the Supreme Court’s decision on Wednesday (August 19) on Riya Chakraborty’s petition. For this, the team reached Mumbai on Thursday evening. At the same time, the Enforcement Directorate questioned the filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey. Sushant was about to do a film with Rumi.

Sushant’s father KK Singh had lodged an FIR against Riya Chakraborty, his father Indrajit Chakraborty, mother Sandhya Chakraborty, brother Shovik Chakraborty, manager Shruti Modi and house manager Samuel Miranda in Patna. Riya and others have been accused of abetting Sushant to suicide and mishandling bank accounts. Riya had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to shift this FIR from Patna to Mumbai, while hearing the Supreme Court upheld the Centre’s decision to get the case investigated by the CBI.

The Central Government had already submitted the case to the CBI on the recommendation of the Bihar government. The CBI filed its report on the basis of the FIR of the Bihar Police, in which all the above names were named as accused. However, now the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is in the hands of the CBI.

Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate is also under investigation on the allegations of Sushant’s father. In this sequence, Director Rumi Jafri was summoned by the ED for questioning. Rumi said on this occasion that it was good that the CBI is being investigated in the case.

The ED office has so far questioned Riya, her family, Sushant’s family and friends. The dead body of Sushant Singh Rajput was found on 14 June at his Bandra residence. Bollywood was stunned by Sushant’s death. No one understood how such a talented and successful star could go on like this. Initial investigation was believed to be the cause of Sushant’s pleasure. However, no suicide note was found. The post-mortem report also confirmed the death of his knee. The Mumbai Police questioned 56 people in this case.
