The Delhi Police has arrested a Delhi University student for allegedly posting pictures of a girl, creating a fake profile of her and putting her mobile number on the social media platform. The girl was later aroused through obscene calls with anonymous numbers and she suffered mental trauma.

The complainant contacted the district cyber cell of South Delhi and an FIR was lodged.

As part of the investigation, the emails were sent on Facebook and Instagram and after an in-depth analysis of the suspect numbers, a suspect, identified as Umesh Kumar, has been apprehended. Police said that the accused living in Sangam Vihar is studying BA second year from Delhi University. Kumar confessed his crime.

Kumar revealed that he was friends with the elder sister of the victim.

“Sometime in March of this year, their friendship ended, for which he blamed the victim. After this, he asked his friend’s younger sister to make fake profiles and post pornographic posts and comments with her photos. “Atul Thakur,” said DCP South. IANS
