CBI team reaches Mumbai to investigate Sushant case, Police Commissioner will cooperate
Sushant Singh Rajput Case: CBI team has reached Mumbai on Thursday evening to investigate the case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh held a meeting in the ministry with state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh over the Sushant case. In the meantime, when asked if he would cooperate with the CBI, he would definitely cooperate. At the same time, in the Sushant case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recorded the statement of filmmaker Rumi Jafri in the money laundering case. Officials said that Jafri reached the office of the Central Investigation Agency located at Ballard Estate here at around 11.30 am.
According to sources, Jafri was questioned about Sushant Singh’s plan and finances for his upcoming film. Earlier, Jaffery was also questioned by the Mumbai Police, which was investigating the Accidental Death Report (ADR) in the Sushant case. Sushant was found dead in his flat in an apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 June. Sushant’s father has also alleged the misappropriation of about Rs 15 crore from his son’s accounts in the FIR lodged in Patna. The Enforcement Directorate is investigating the money laundering based on this FIR.
On the other hand, Sharad Pawar, president of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), a constituent of the ruling coalition-Mahavikas Aghadi in Maharashtra, said the Maharashtra government would extend full cooperation to the CBI in the Sushant case investigation. The Maharashtra government has been opposing the CBI probe in the case. But the Supreme Court on Wednesday handed over the case to the CBI. Pawar said that he is confident that the government of Mahavikas Aghadi will respect the decision of the Supreme Court. Along with this, he also hoped that the investigation into the case would not be like the investigation into the rationalist Narendra Dabholkar murder case, which has not yet been completed. Dabholkar, a well-known activist working for the elimination of superstition, was shot and killed in August 2013. The CBI started investigating the case in 2014.
