AKS Clothing, The Brainchild Of Fashion Enthusiast Nidhi Yadav
Nidhi Yadav is one of those inspiring designers turned businesswomen who manage to achieve the perfect balance between her personal and professional lives. She is the founder of AKS Clothing, Yuvdhi Apparels Private Limited’s flagship brand, as well as two more sub-brands, Aum and Aks Couture.
Nidhi Yadav has aspired to work in fashion since seeing Meryl Streep’s 2006 blockbuster film The Devil Wears Prada. Nidhi, who was born and raised in Indore, is a Computer Science graduate who spent a year and a half at consulting firm Deloitte before figuring out what she really wanted to pursue. Nidhi soon enrolled at the Polimoda Fashion School in Florence, Italy, for a one-year degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising. She received a position at Emilio Pucci in Italy, but she quickly returned to India to be with her family.
During her fashion design education in Italy, Nidhi Yadav researched several fashion apparel businesses such as Zara and H&M. She was inspired by their success stories and resolved to turn her artistic abilities into business assets.
Her vision has also aided in the identification of undiscovered e-commerce company potential. Nidhi introduced AKS, which stands for “reflection,” in May 2014. AKS’s trend-based designs captivated the market’s interest like no other, starting with five to twenty new styles every two weeks and eventually more than 150 new styles per month.
AKS has won Myntra’s Emerging Brand of the Year award for 2017. The brand’s vision is to be one of India’s top ethnic fashion wear brands, with a diverse portfolio of products, and to become a dominant player on India’s e-commerce platforms. Women’s empowerment is one of AKS’s core ideals. Nearly half of the companies that AKS outsources work to are run by women.
