At 34, Aamir Wani has built a distinctive presence in the travel and photography space by combining visual storytelling with a deep connection to his roots. Based in Srinagar and ranked 78th in the category, the creator behind @kashmirthroughmylens is known for showcasing Kashmir through a cinematic and immersive perspective.

After completing his studies in the UK, Aamir returned to Kashmir in 2014 to pursue photography full time. What followed was a journey rooted in documenting landscapes, culture and stories from the region, presented through carefully crafted visuals and films.

His work extends beyond photography into filmmaking. In 2021, he received ‘The Best Cinematography Award’ at the International Film and Television School in Paris for two of his short films, highlighting his strength behind the camera. The same year, his documentary Firdaus was shortlisted for the BAFTA LA ‘Best Documentary’ award, bringing international recognition to his storytelling.

Aamir’s work has also earned him accolades on a global stage. He was a recipient of the UN World Awards for Heritage and Tourism in 2018, recognising his contribution to showcasing cultural and natural heritage through visual media.

Over the years, he has collaborated with brands such as Intel, Asus and Suzuki, integrating commercial work with his creative storytelling.

With average views of over 250,000 and a Goat Score of 7.57, Aamir Wani represents a creator who uses his lens not just to capture images, but to tell stories rooted in place and identity.
