Prakhar Gupta Is Changing the Way India Listens to Long-Form Conversations

At a time when digital content is increasingly shaped by short attention spans, Prakhar Gupta has built his identity around doing almost the opposite. His work is rooted in long-form conversations, challenging questions and the belief that a good discussion can be more valuable than a quick viral moment. As the creator and host behind The Prakhar Gupta Xperience (PGX), Gupta has developed one of India’s prominent podcast-led media platforms, bringing together conversations around psychology, philosophy, politics, culture, business, science and contemporary society. Forbes currently describes him as the face and brain behind the PGX YouTube channel, which has crossed 2.5 million subscribers.

Gupta’s intellectual foundation was shaped in part by his time at Columbia University, where he studied psychology and economics. The experience exposed him to an environment in which ideas, debate and intellectual curiosity were central to academic and social life. Forbes India’s 2025 profile described him as someone who learned to treat ideas as a form of currency, a philosophy that has subsequently become visible in the way he approaches his work.

His journey into podcasting began well before the current Indian podcast boom. What started as PG Radio eventually evolved into The Prakhar Gupta Xperience, or PGX, with a broader ambition around conversations that are intellectually engaging while remaining accessible. The podcast describes its mission as creating raw, thought-provoking dialogue that brings deeper meaning to everyday conversation and explores ideas that expand minds and challenge assumptions. It explicitly positions itself around genuine exploration rather than scripted exchanges or predetermined agendas.

That philosophy has allowed Gupta to build a guest list that crosses conventional categories. His conversations have included entrepreneurs, politicians, comedians, actors, scientists, educators, academics and other public figures. The range is deliberate: rather than restricting the platform to one industry, PGX uses conversation itself as the connecting format. Recent episodes have explored artificial intelligence, the future of jobs, education, geopolitics, psychology, entrepreneurship, culture and human behaviour.

One of the defining characteristics of Gupta’s interviewing style is his willingness to let conversations develop beyond their obvious starting point. His earlier work and public discussions around podcasting have emphasized asking questions that push guests to think beyond the central theme, while also maintaining a connection with the audience. His approach has helped position the podcast not simply as an interview show, but as a platform for ideas and perspectives.

The scale of that platform has grown considerably. Forbes’ current profile lists more than 2.5 million YouTube subscribers for The Prakhar Gupta Xperience, while the podcast itself has been active since 2019 and has developed into a substantial catalogue of long-form conversations.  The evolution from PG Radio to PGX has also expanded the format into different strands, including PGX: Raw & Real and PGX Ideas. The former focuses on people who have lived through significant experiences or achieved something meaningful, while PGX Ideas is designed around deeper discussions with people who think and work around complex subjects.

His content has also increasingly addressed the changing relationship between technology, work and society. Episodes examining artificial intelligence, creator economics and the future of employment demonstrate the breadth of subjects now entering the PGX ecosystem. In one 2026 conversation, for example, the show examined AI’s impact on education, jobs, productivity and the way people interact with technology.  Another PGX Ideas episode explored artificial general intelligence, AI consciousness, the creator economy and the future of jobs in India.

The platform’s growth has coincided with significant recognition for Gupta himself. In 2025, Forbes India named him among its 30 Under 30, highlighting his work as a podcaster and his position at the intersection of ideas, media and contemporary culture. The profile noted his conversations with figures across India’s political and business landscape and his willingness to operate in subjects where public scrutiny can be intense.  In 2026, Forbes also lists Gupta among the names associated with its 30 Under 30 Asia coverage in the Social Media, Marketing & Advertising category.

What makes Gupta’s trajectory particularly relevant to the evolution of India’s creator economy is that his success has not depended exclusively on conventional entertainment. His audience has been built around curiosity. Instead of reducing every subject to a motivational takeaway or a short clip, PGX gives conversations room to become complicated, contradictory and sometimes uncomfortable. That approach reflects a growing appetite among digital audiences for content that provides context rather than simply information.

Gupta has also demonstrated that a creator-led platform can evolve beyond an individual personality into a recognizable media identity. PGX now operates as a broader content ecosystem, with different formats, recurring conversations and a growing catalogue of guests. The result is a model in which the creator is simultaneously interviewer, editor, storyteller and curator of ideas.

His journey also reflects the changing nature of influence itself. In an earlier generation of media, access to large audiences depended heavily on television networks, publishing houses or established institutions. Gupta’s career illustrates how digital platforms have altered that equation. A creator with a distinctive point of view can build an audience directly, develop a recognizable editorial voice and eventually create a media property around that identity.

For Prakhar Gupta, the microphone has therefore become more than a piece of production equipment. It has become a tool for exploration. Whether the subject is politics, psychology, technology, entrepreneurship, culture or the future of work, the underlying proposition remains consistent: meaningful ideas deserve the time required to understand them.

As PGX continues expanding its reach and experimenting with formats, Gupta’s position in India’s creator landscape is increasingly defined not simply by the size of his audience, but by the kind of conversation he has chosen to build around it. In an internet culture that often rewards speed, Prakhar Gupta has made depth part of his identity—and turned conversation itself into the medium.
