Uma Raghuraman Is Bringing Everyday Home Cooking to the Digital World
At 49, Uma Raghuraman has built a meaningful presence in India’s food creator community by sharing recipes that celebrate home cooking. Based in Gurgaon and ranked 60th in the food category, the creator behind @masterchefmom has become known for her practical, family-friendly recipes and thoughtful approach to food storytelling.
Uma wears many hats—she is a mother, chef, author and food vlogger. Her journey began with a personal blog where she started documenting recipes from her kitchen. Over time, that blog grew into an extensive collection of more than 1,000 recipes, covering everything from everyday meals to creative home-cooked dishes. Today, she shares many of these recipes across her social media platforms as well.
Her passion for cooking also led her into publishing. Uma is the author of the cookbook My Genius Lunch Box, published by Penguin Random House. In the book, she not only developed the recipes but also styled and photographed the dishes herself, bringing together her love for cooking and visual storytelling.
Her work has also gained recognition beyond her own platforms. In 2017, she won Netflix’s My Chef’s Table Instagram Contest, becoming the contest’s only Indian food ambassador at the time.
Over the years, Uma has collaborated with several well-known brands, including Flipkart, Wow! Momos, Unilever, Mother Dairy and ITC, reflecting her growing influence in the food and lifestyle space.
With average views crossing 1.9 million and a Goat Score of 8.06, Uma Raghuraman represents a creator who has successfully turned everyday cooking into a digital community.
Because sometimes, the most powerful food stories begin in a home kitchen.
