India is a strong candidate: Lavrov
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that today we talked about possible reforms of the United Nations and India is a strong candidate to be a permanent member of the UN Security Council and we support India’s candidature. We believe that India can become a full member of the Security Council.
He said that I do not think India and China need any help from outside. I do not think they need help, especially when the matter is related to the issues of the country. They can solve them on their own, which means recent issues.
In the RIC Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that New Delhi and Beijing have shown their commitment to a peaceful solution. He started meetings at the level of defense officials, foreign ministers and neither of the two sides made any statement indicating that either of them would want a non-diplomatic solution. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also attended this meeting.
